More than 250 leading Indian technology companies are gearing up to make their mark on the global stage at the GITEX Global event. The five-day technology extravaganza, scheduled to take place from October 16th to 20th at the Dubai World Trade Center, promises to unite key players from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector worldwide.

This formidable presence of Indian tech companies is bolstered by a high-level ICT delegation, generously sponsored by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC). ESC, the apex organization representing exporters of IT and related products, is actively facilitating the participation of the Indian ICT industry in this grand event.

Mr. Kamal Vachani, the Regional Director of ESC, confirmed the substantial Indian presence at GITEX Global, highlighting the role of five dedicated pavilions representing different sectors, including TEPC, ESC, Nasscom, Kerala IT Parks, and the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, around 80 individual Indian companies are set to make their presence felt at this global tech showcase.

The Chairman of ESC, Mr. Sandeep Narula, noted that a select 50-member delegation would include prominent enterprises, particularly from the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. These enterprises are poised to display innovative products and solutions at the India Pavilion, with the anticipation of generating a plethora of business inquiries from both fellow delegates and participating global enterprises.

Visitors to the Indian Pavilion can expect to be captivated by a diverse array of products and solutions on display, ranging from AI-enabled devices and banking solutions to cloud computing, cybersecurity, the metaverse, educational solutions, telecom solutions, and a host of other related offerings. India’s strong presence at GITEX has historically served as a platform for Indian ICT companies to connect with global firms seeking products and solutions.

The participation of Indian tech firms at Gitex Global holds significant importance in light of India’s rapidly expanding startup ecosystem, which now boasts over 99,000 startups, including 108 unicorns, with a cumulative valuation exceeding $340 billion. Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director of ESC, highlighted that this participation coincides with the strengthening bilateral relations between India and the United Arab Emirates, especially with the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
