Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is all set to welcome cricket enthusiasts heading to the high voltage ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Ensuring top priority for scheduled flights and passenger convenience while traveling, the Airport had requested all passengers traveling through SVPI Airport to allocate additional time for travel-related formalities and mandatory security protocols.

A spokesperson for the airport mentioned that all security teams, both in the terminal and landside, are on standby with flexible resource allocation to ensure a seamless transit experience for passengers based on the varying passenger load.

In addition, passengers have been informed about the closure of airspace for an Air Force display on November 17 and 19 from 13:25 to 14:10. Moreover, the airport boasts a dedicated General Aviation terminal to expedite the process for domestic and international travelers using non-scheduled aircraft.

For the upcoming event, the airport has 15 stands available for night parking, including six for business jet operations. Airlines have been asked to assist in managing timely slots and provide increased resources for an improved passenger experience.

The airport has also devised a plan for non-standard parking of aircraft if the demand for night parking exceeds the available stands. As a proactive measure, Ahmedabad Airport has collaborated with neighboring airports to accommodate visiting aircraft for night parking in case of stand shortage.

Furthermore, SVPI Airport has accepted requests from commercial airlines to operate additional flights to metro cities to accommodate the influx of passengers during the ODI World Cup final match.

Coming to the tournament, the Indian team booked their spot in the final by defeating New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-finals, showcasing an exceptional all-round performance. Meanwhile, Australia became the second finalist after edging over South Africa in an edge-of-the-seat thriller at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The final is scheduled for November 19 on Sunday.
