The Global Media Congress (GMC), the region’s most prominent international media event, is set to host an innovative Co-Production Majlis under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE. This addition aims to solidify GMC’s role as a hub for media collaboration and innovation. With the theme “Shaping the future of the media industry,” the conference and exhibition will take place from November 14th to 16th, 2023, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The event is organized by Capital Events, a part of ADNEC Group, in collaboration with the Emirates News Agency, and is expected to attract media professionals from around the world.
The Co-Production Majlis, an invitation-only space for industry leaders and innovators, will foster networking, idea exchange, case study discussions, and exploration of co-production and partnership opportunities within the media landscape. This initiative will complement six established feature areas, including Workshops, Innovate Stage, NexTech, Create Stage, Educate Stage, Media Roundtables, and Media Future Labs. Prominent MENA production houses, streaming platforms, and leading broadcasters such as Starzplay, Dubai Media Inc, and ADTV, among others, will actively participate in the Co-Production Majlis.
Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of WAM and Chairman of the GMC Higher Organizing Committee, emphasized the importance of quality media content and its effective dissemination. He highlighted the Majlis as a platform for content creators and buyers to interact symbiotically, supporting the future of the media industry.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group noted the rapid changes in the media industry and expressed delight in hosting the GMC as a platform for connecting businesses and entrepreneurs with global thought leaders and fostering collaboration on new ideas.
The Co-Production Majlis will specifically focus on closing investment deals in Arabic entertainment, providing a hub for knowledge-sharing and inspiration. This exclusive networking platform will facilitate interactions between media professionals, investors, and collaborators.
