After the ODI World Cup 2023, attention now shifts to the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia set to commence on November 23 in Visakhapatnam.
The BCCI has opted to rest most of the senior players, assembling a relatively youthful squad, primarily composed of Asian Games champions. Number one ranked T20I batetr, Suryakumar Yadav, has been appointed as captain for this series, stepping in after Hardik Pandya sustained an injury during the ODI World Cup, rendering him unavailable.
Suryakumar Yadav will captain the side, while Ruturaj Gaikwad will be vice-captain for the first three T20Is. Shreyas Iyer will join the squad for the fourth and fifth T20I as vice-captain.
Notably, despite their talents, Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal have once again been overlooked for selection.
