As the curtains draw to a close on November 23, Paperworld Middle East and Gifts and Lifestyle Middle East concluded their largest-ever edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, leaving an indelible mark on the global paper, gifting, and lifestyle industries. The co-located events, which attracted over 10,000 visitors from more than 100 countries, showcased an array of trends, innovations, and a renewed commitment to sustainability.
Paperworld Middle East, renowned as the largest international trade event for paper, stationery, arts and crafts, office supplies, and school products, lived up to its reputation. The exhibition provided a robust platform for the global paper trade in the region, featuring country pavilions from India, Germany, China, Hong Kong, Turkey, and Jordan. Gifts and Lifestyle Middle East, complementing its counterpart, brought together exhibitors from 20 countries across four distinct categories—gifting, leather finished goods, lifestyle, and baby and kids products.
With a significant 50 percent growth in both events from the previous year, Paperworld Middle East and Gifts and Lifestyle Middle East hosted over 490 exhibitors across four halls. This expansion reflected the industry’s resilience and adaptability, even in the face of global challenges. Seventy exhibitors from India also participated in the event. The India Pavilion at the Paperworld Middle east was inaugurated by Consul Sunil Kumar.
One of the highlights of the event was The Hub Forum, a discussion platform where leaders in the paper industry gathered to delve into green initiatives shaping the sector’s future. Sustainability emerged as a central theme, with Project Sustainability standing out as a key feature showcasing environmentally friendly products sourced from across the exhibition.
As the events unfolded, it became clear that sustainability had become a driving force, not just in product innovation but also in the industry’s ethos. The discussions at The Hub Forum emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to integrate eco-conscious practices, and education experts stressed the importance of making sustainability an engaging part of educational curricula. The goal was to inspire the next generation by infusing a sense of fun into the learning process.
As Paperworld Middle East and Gifts and Lifestyle Middle East concluded, they did so against the backdrop of the upcoming COP28 hosted by the UAE later this month. This intersection highlights the region’s commitment to sustainability, positioning itself as a global leader in driving positive environmental change.
