A delegation from Indian non-governmental entities (NGEs), led by the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), is actively exploring partnership opportunities in the UAE,in a week-long tour to the Emirates. aiming to unlock collaborative potential with global companies.
India is among the leading space-faring nations in the world and is globally recognized for its ability to deploy the most cost-effective space missions. Despite that India accounts for only 2% of the global space economy. The current global space economy size is estimated to be ~US$440 billion. To accelerate the growth of the Indian space sector, IN-SPACe in cooperation with ISRO, is devising a Decadal Vision and Strategy for the Indian Space Economy. A comprehensive roadmap for implementation of the long term strategy.
Aligned with the Digital India initiative of the Indian government, the IN-SPACe Digital Platform (IDP) was launched in August 2022. This feature-rich platform, accessible at www.inspace.gov.in, streamlines the submission, processing, and approval of applications from NGEs in the space sector in a paperless manner.To date, over 350 applications from NGEs in the space sector have been submitted through the IN-SPACe Digital Platform. Additionally, the online platform provides a comprehensive database of more than 400 businesses operating in the space sector.
As an autonomous government organization, founded in 2020 IN-SPACe holds the mandate to promote, guide, and authorize space activities in the country. Consequently, the promotion and enablement of Space NGEs represent a significant responsibility for IN-SPACe. Since its establishment, IN-SPACe has collaborated with various stakeholders in the private sector and government departments, actively contributing to the development of a thriving space ecosystem and the acceleration of the private space industry in the country. Some noteworthy initiatives are outlined below.
