Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held discussions with President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi of the Republic of Mozambique, who is visiting India to take part in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar.
The leaders expressed a shared commitment to advancing Mozambique’s development priorities and explored collaboration in defense, counter-terrorism, energy, health, trade and investment, agriculture, water security, mining, capacity building, and maritime cooperation. PM Modi proposed initiatives to strengthen air connectivity, fostering closer business and cultural ties between Mozambique and India.
President Nyusi conveyed gratitude to PM Modi for including the African Union (AU) in the G-20 and discussed matters related to cooperation in multilateral forums, including the United Nations. PM Modi commended President Nyusi for actively participating in the Voice of the Global South Summit in both January and November 2023.
President Nyusi thanked India for its support in various development projects, capacity building programs, and assistance in maritime security during the discussions. Both leaders affirmed their commitment to maintaining high-level political contacts.
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, themed ‘Gateway to the Future,’ features participation from 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations. The summit serves as a premier platform to showcase investment opportunities, emphasizing sectors like Industry 4.0, Technology, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy, and Sustainability.
