PM Modi releases first installment to 1 lakh beneficiaries under PMAY-G

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the first installment of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to 1 lakh beneficiaries through a video conference. During the event, the Prime Minister engaged with beneficiaries and discussed the positive impact of government schemes on their lives.

Mankunwari Bai from Chhattisgarh shared her experience with th Prime Minister, highlighting her involvement in agricultural work and training to make Dona Pattal through self-help groups. She expressed gratitude for the benefits received, including a pucca house, water, gas, electricity connection, and Ayushman Card. Another beneficiary, Lalita Aadivasi from Madhya Pradesh, outlined the various benefits received, such as Ayushman Card, ration card, and PM Kisan Nidhi, emphasizing the positive changes brought about by PM-JANMAN.

The Prime Minister also interacted with students, including Bharti Narayan Ran from Maharashtra, who attends Eklavya Model Residential School. Bharti expressed her aspirations to become an IAS officer and highlighted the benefits her family received, including a pucca house, toilets, and Ayushman Card. The Prime Minister commended her and encouraged students to participate in cleanliness campaigns.

Swavi Ganga from Andhra Pradesh, engaged in coffee plantations, shared her success story, citing the benefits of government schemes for farmers and skill development. The Prime Minister congratulated her on becoming a “Lakhpati Didi” and affirmed the government’s commitment to create more success stories.

Shashi Kiran Birjiya from Jharkhand, associated with a self-help group, detailed the benefits received, including a tapped water connection, electricity, Kisan Credit Card, and a pucca home under PMAY(G) through PM-JANMAN. The Prime Minister acknowledged her efforts in creating awareness and praised the impact of government schemes at the grassroots level.

During the event, the Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to reaching every deserving beneficiary, particularly in tribal areas. He highlighted the success of PM-JANMAN in achieving positive outcomes within a short span, mentioning increased budgets for schemes related to Scheduled Tribes, Eklavya Model Schools, and MSP for forest produce.

PM-JANMAN, launched on November 15, 2023, with a budget of approximately Rs 24,000 crores, focuses on 11 critical interventions through 9 Ministries to improve the socio-economic conditions of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The Prime Minister assured continuous efforts towards the respect and comfort of the tribal community.
