Delhi Police has implemented strong security measures in the national capital ahead of Republic Day. Around 14,000 security personnel will be deployed in and around Kartavya Path, the venue for the Republic Parade on January 26.
Special Commissioner of Police (Security) Dependra Pathak, addressing the media, assured the public of a professional and robust security plan covering the entire city, adding that the police is prepared for potential emergencies. He highlighted the collaboration between security, traffic, and district units, working closely with central security agencies to ensure a secure Republic Day celebration.
Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) HGS Dhaliwal announced the sealing of Delhi’s borders from 10 PM on Thursday, with restrictions on the entry of heavy vehicles.
Delhi Police has also established missing persons booths, help desks, first-aid kiosks, and separate facilitation booths to enhance safety and convenience for visitors, including a provision for depositing vehicle keys.
