PM Modi inaugurates ONGC Sea Survival Centre during Goa visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a day-long visit to Goa, inaugurated the ONGC Sea Survival Centre. The facility aims to advance sea survival training in India to meet global standards and is projected to train 10,000-15,000 individuals annually. The focus lies on simulating harsh weather conditions to enhance real-life disaster preparedness, potentially increasing the chances of safe escape.

Later in the day, PM Modi will inaugurate India Energy Week 2024 and participate in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 program.
In line with the PM Modi’s emphasis on achieving Aatma Nirbharta in energy requirements, India Energy Week 2024 will take place from February 6-9 in Goa.

Positioned as India’s largest energy exhibition and conference, it will unite the entire energy value chain, facilitating India’s energy transition goals. PM Modi will engage in a roundtable with global oil and gas CEOs and experts.

India Energy Week 2024 will prioritize encouraging and integrating startups into the energy value chain. The event expects the participation of around 17 energy ministers from different countries, 35,000+ attendees, and more than 900 exhibitors. Dedicated country pavilions for Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, the UK, and the US will be featured, along with a special Make in India Pavilion showcasing innovative solutions from Indian MSMEs in the energy sector.

During the program, PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth over Rs 1,330 crores, including the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa and the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports. The new campus of the National Institute of Watersports will offer 28 tailor-made courses for the development of watersports and water rescue activities, catering to the public and the armed forces.

PM Modi will also dedicate a 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa, designed for the scientific treatment of wet and dry waste, featuring a 500 KW solar power plant. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a passenger ropeway connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, along with associated tourism activities. The foundation stone for a 100 MLD water treatment plant in South Goa will also be laid.

Furthermore, PM Modi will distribute appointment orders to 1930 new government recruits and provide sanction letters to beneficiaries of welfare schemes during the Rozgar Mela.
