PM Modi’s multistate tour to inaugurate development projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a visit to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra on February 27th and 28th to inaugurate and dedicate a series of development projects across the states.

The Prime Minister on February 27th will commence his itinerary with a visit to the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. This visit aims to bolster the country’s space sector and enhance its technical and research and development (R&D) capabilities. During the visit, he will inaugurate three significant space infrastructure projects, including the PSLV Integration Facility (PIF) at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. This state-of-the-art facility is poised to increase the frequency of PSLV launches and cater to small launch vehicles designed by private space companies.

Later in the day in the evening, PM Modi will participate in the program ‘Creating the Future – Digital Mobility for Automotive MSME Entrepreneurs’ in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The event aims to address thousands of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurs in the automotive sector. Additionally, he will launch two major initiatives, the TVS Open Mobility Platform and the TVS Mobility-CII Centre of Excellence, designed to support and uplift MSMEs in the Indian automotive industry.

On February 28th, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth about Rs 17,300 crore in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Among these projects is the Outer Harbor Container Terminal at V.O. Chidambaranar Port, aimed at transforming the port into a transshipment hub for the east coast. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate various other projects aimed at making the port the first Green Hydrogen Hub Port of the country.

Additionally, PM Modi will launch India’s first indigenous green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vessel under the Harit Nauka initiative. This vessel, manufactured by Cochin Shipyard, underscores a pioneering step towards embracing clean energy solutions.

Furthermore, PM Modi will dedicate to the nation rail projects for doubling the Vanchi Maniyachchi – Nagercoil rail line and four road projects in Tamil Nadu, aimed at improving connectivity, reducing travel time, and enhancing socio-economic growth in the region.

In Maharashtra, the Prime Minister will participate in a public program in Yavatmal, where he will release the 16th installment amount of more than Rs 21,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. He will also disburse the 2nd and 3rd installments of ‘Namo Shetkari MahaSanman Nidhi’ and initiate the distribution of one crore Ayushman cards across Maharashtra.

Additionally, PM Modi will launch the Modi Awaas Gharkul Yojana for OBC category beneficiaries in Maharashtra and dedicate to the nation multiple irrigation projects benefiting Marathwada and Vidarbha regions.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate multiple rail projects and several road projects in Maharashtra, aimed at improving connectivity and boosting socio-economic development in the region.
