Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at a public rally in Dhanbad’s Sindri on Friday, underscored India’s economic achievements and the nation’s trajectory towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. PM Modi cited the growth rate of 8.4 percent in the December quarter.
During his address, PM Modi acknowledged the significant progress made in the last decade, particularly in Jharkhand, where development initiatives focused on the tribal community, the poor, youth, and women. He reiterated the commitment to make India “Viksit” (developed) before 2047 and stressed the importance of Jharkhand’s development in achieving this goal.
PM Modi expressed confidence that Jharkhand, the land of freedom fighter Birsa Munda, would play a pivotal role in realizing the vision of a developed India.
Addressing the rally, Chief Minister Champai Soren highlighted the need to enhance irrigation facilities in Sindri. He said the newly inaugurated fertiliser plant will also positively benefit the state’s agriculture sector.
Union Minister Arjun Munda, reiterating the government’s commitment to agriculture sector, said that the agricultural produce increased from 265 million tonnes in 2013-14 to 329 million tonnes in 2022-23. He also emphasized the substantial increase in budget allocation for the agriculture sector, from Rs. 21,933 crores in 2013-14 to Rs. 1,15,531 crores in 2023-24.
