Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asserted that Purvanchal will undergo a rapid transformation within the next five years under his and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi’s leadership.

Addressing a rally in Jaunpur, PM Modi took aim at the opposition INDIA bloc, saying that it stands little chance of securing even a single seat in Uttar Pradesh.

“I pledge to build a developed India, and the growth engine of developed India will be Purvanchal. This entire region is becoming a strong hub of health and education. In the next five years, Modi-Yogi is going to change both the image and the fate of Purvanchal,” PM Modi said.

Emphasizing the development initiatives carried out by the BJP government in Varanasi and Ayodhya, PM Modi said: “You have seen it in Kashi and you are seeing it in Ayodhya – how a strong government works. Earlier, when people used to talk about development, they would discuss Delhi and Mumbai, but now the entire country and the people across the world talk about Kashi and Ayodhya.”

PM Modi accused opposition parties of engaging in the politics of “appeasement” to secure votes.

“In this election, there are two models – on one side it’s us – Modi, BJP and the NDA whose path is ‘santushtikaran’; on the other side, the SP and the Congress, or the ‘ghamandiya’ alliance, have chosen the path of ‘tushtikaran’. This game of SP and Congress is dangerous. They seek votes here, while in South India, they abuse and humiliate the people of Uttar Pradesh and use derogatory language for the people of UP and Sanatana Dharma,” he said.

Appealing to voters, PM Modi said that the Lok Sabha election is an opportunity for the country to choose a leader capable of leading a strong government.

“This election is an opportunity to choose the prime minister of the country – a prime minister who runs a strong government and cannot be dominated by the world, but one that makes the world aware of India’s strength,” he said.

Criticizing Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav for his comment on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, PM Modi accused the party of catering to its ‘vote bank’.

He assured the public that if the BJP government is elected to power, it will prioritize the well-being of the elderly.

“Modi is giving you one more guarantee. Families have elderly people who are above 70 years of age, and a huge amount of money goes into treating the ailments of these elderly people. So, Modi guarantees that any of your family members who are above the age bracket of 70 years, if they fall sick, then I will take responsibility for their treatment,” PM Modi said.
