The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heatwave to severe heatwave conditions over parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka on Monday. An orange alert has been issued by the weather agency for 13 districts in Telangana.
Meanwhile, Northeast India is expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds on Monday. According to the IMD, fairly widespread to widespread, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura over the next five days.
The weather department has also predicted a two to four degrees Celsius rise in maximum temperatures over many parts of Northwest and Central India during the next five days. However, the IMD said that no significant change in maximum temperatures is likely over the remaining parts of the country.
