The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday approved a subsidy of around Rs 24,420 crore on electricity for different categories of consumers and sanctioned over 46,000 new vacancies in the health sector in the state.

Proposals for these initiatives were tabled at the state cabinet meeting in Bhopal, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, where they received unanimous approval from the council of ministers.

State cabinet minister Kailash Vijayvargiya provided a breakdown of the subsidy, saying that Rs 6,000 crore has been approved for domestic consumers, Rs 13,000 crore for general category farmers, and Rs 5,000 crore for SC/ST farmers.
