PM Modi hails Budget 2024, says it will speed up growth and empower middle class

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the Union Budget 2024-25 as a significant driver of economic development and empowerment for all sections of Indian society. In his post-budget remarks, PM Modi emphasized the budget’s focus on rural development, poverty alleviation, and agricultural prosperity.

“This is a budget that will guide the country’s villages, poor, and farmers towards prosperity. Over the past 10 years, 25 crore people have risen out of poverty. This budget supports the continued empowerment of the newly emerged Neo Middle Class,” PM Modi said.

“This budget will give new strength to the middle class and has strong plans to empower tribal communities, Dalits, and backward classes.”

PM Modi also underscored the focus on defence and tourism in the Budget, and highlighted the simplification of taxation rules announced by the finance minister.

“Many provisions have been made in this budget to make the defence sector self-reliant. The focus is also laid on the tourism sector in this budget. A decision has also been taken on the reduction of tax and TDS rules are also simplified. We are speeding development in the eastern region by the way of construction of highways and water and power projects.”

The Prime Minister praised the budget’s provisions for MSMEs and startups, pointing out a new scheme designed to enhance ease of credit and initiatives to expand the export and manufacturing ecosystem to every district.

“This budget will create new opportunities for startups and the space economy,” PM Modi added, emphasizing its focus on manufacturing and infrastructure. He expressed confidence that these measures would help establish India as a global manufacturing hub.

A standout feature of the budget is the ‘Employment Linked Incentive Scheme,’ which PM Modi said would generate numerous job opportunities.

The Prime Minister congratulated Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her team for crafting what he termed a “landmark” budget and expressed confidence that it would propel India to unprecedented heights of progress.
