Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat delivered a stunning performance to qualify for the semi-finals in the men’s 57kg category at the Paris Olympics on Thursday.
Aman advanced to the semi-finals with a dominant 12-0 victory by technical superiority over Albania’s Zelimkhan Abakanov, securing his chance to compete for a medal.
Later on Thursday, Aman will face Japan’s Rei Higuchi, vying for the opportunity to win India’s first gold medal at the Paris Olympics.
He initially earned a point due to passivity from the Albanian wrestler and followed it up with a takedown, taking a 3-0 lead in the first period.
In the second period, Aman showcased his exceptional skills, outclassing Abakanov to secure his spot in the final four.
