Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to U.S. President Donald Trump following his resounding victory in the recent U.S. elections, congratulating him on the success and reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral ties.

Reportedly, President Trump praised Modi, saying that the “whole world loves” him and calling India a “magnificent country” led by a “magnificent man.” President Trump conveyed his appreciation for India, adding that he considers PM Modi and India as true friends. President Trump also added that PM Modi was among the first world leaders he reached out to after his victory, underscoring the unique bond between the two nations.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Had a great conversation with my friend, President @realDonaldTrump, congratulating him on his spectacular victory. Looking forward to working closely together once again to further strengthen India-U.S. relations across technology, defense, energy, space, and several other sectors.”

The conversation highlighted PM Modi’s optimism for advancing the strategic partnership between the two countries under President Trump’s continued leadership. Both leaders expressed a shared enthusiasm for enhancing cooperation in key areas that have seen substantial growth during their tenures, including technology, defense, and space exploration.

PM Modi and President Trump have shared a warm relationship, evidenced by events like the 2019 ‘Howdy Modi!’ rally in Houston and Trump’s 2020 ‘Namaste Trump’ visit to India, both met with resounding public enthusiasm. These events and regular strategic discussions have bolstered India-U.S. ties, cementing a relationship built on mutual respect and shared objectives.
