PM Modi extends heartfelt greetings to the nation on Chhath Puja

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to the nation on Thursday in celebration of Chhath Puja, wishing for happiness, prosperity, and good fortune for all.

“My best wishes to all of you on the holy occasion of Chhath Sandhya Arghya. May this great festival, a symbol of simplicity, restraint, determination and dedication, bring happiness, prosperity and good fortune in everyone’s life,” PM Modi said on X.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, also shared his greetings, expressing hope that the festival would bring new energy and strength to all.

“Heartiest greetings on Chhath Puja, the great festival of sun worship and folk faith. I hope this festival brings new energy and strength in the lives of all of you,” Rahul Gandhi said on X.

President Draupadi Murmu extended her best wishes as well, acknowledging the significance of Chhath Puja as a festival of faith, fasting, and devotion.

“On the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja, the holy festival of faith, fasting and devotion, I extend my hearty congratulations and warm wishes to all my fellow citizens,” President Murmu said.

Chhath Puja is celebrated widely across the country, especially in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

The four-day festival starts with Nahay-Khay, which focuses on purification and preparation. The second day, Kharna, is followed by the main Chhath Puja on the third day. The festival concludes with Usha Arghya, the offering of prayers to the rising sun, on the final day.

This year’s Chhath Puja festivities will conclude on November 8.
