Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Chhattisgarh for three days starting December 14, where he will chair a high-level security review meeting to assess the state’s security situation and related developments.
Shah’s visit, scheduled from December 14 to 16, will include a focused discussion on security concerns in the state’s capital, Raipur. As part of his trip, the Home Minister will also present the prestigious President’s Police Colors to the Chhattisgarh Police.
The minister will travel to Jagdalpur, where he will engage with surrendered Maoists, residents, and intellectuals. Shah is also set to attend the closing ceremony of the Bastar Olympics, a significant cultural event in the region.
In addition to his meetings and ceremonies, Shah will pay tribute to martyrs in Jagdalpur and meet the families of victims affected by Left-Wing Extremism. His itinerary includes visits to security camps, oversight of ongoing development projects, and a meal with security force personnel stationed in the region.
This visit highlights the government’s focus on addressing security challenges and promoting development in Chhattisgarh.
Earlier this week, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a meeting on anti-Naxal operations at the Police Headquarters in Nava Raipur.
Vishnu Deo Sai reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to combatting Naxalism, stating that the security forces have made significant strides in addressing the threat since his administration took office. He emphasized the progress in restoring peace in the Bastar region, adding that review meetings are regularly held to monitor the situation.
