Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar said on Monday that the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will address complaints raised by candidates regarding the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), 2024.
Speaking to the media, Kumar said, “They are free to express their concerns; it is their right. However, the Commission will conduct a thorough investigation and take the necessary action.”
The protests erupted in Patna as aspirants demanded the cancellation of the preliminary stage of the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), conducted by BPSC on December 13.
On Sunday, the police used lathi charges and water cannons to disperse the demonstrators at Gandhi Maidan. The Bihar Police registered an FIR against 600-700 individuals, including Jan Suraaj Chief Prashant Kishore, for unauthorized gatherings, instigation, and disrupting public order.
In an official statement, the Patna Administration explained, “Jan Suraaj Party was denied permission to organize Chhatra Sansad near the Gandhi statue. Despite this, a crowd assembled at the location, leading to a scuffle with the police. The demonstrators damaged loudspeakers installed by the administration and ignored repeated requests to adhere to the guidelines. This prompted the administration to use water cannons and force to disperse them.”
The FIR, registered at the Gandhi Maidan police station, accuses 600-700 individuals, including Prashant Kishore, of unauthorized assembly, instigating disturbances, and creating a law and order issue, the statement added.
