The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) of the Indian Navy is set to conduct a grand ‘Operational Demonstration’ at Rama Krishna Beach in Visakhapatnam on January 4, 2025. The event will highlight the Navy’s combat capabilities, featuring tactical manoeuvres, air power displays, and simulated combat operations.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be the chief guest for the demonstration, which will be hosted by Vice-Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the ENC.
Sampath Kumar, Commissioner of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), is overseeing the event’s arrangements. Kumar said that all preparations are in place and that the district administration is working in coordination with multiple departments to ensure the success of the event. He added that the Chief Minister will arrive at the event around 4:40 PM and will address the gathering at approximately 6:10 PM after witnessing the demonstration.
Kumar further said that both the District Collector and the Police Commissioner have visited the venue, and coordination with naval staff is ongoing to finalize the arrangements. “We are proud to host this Operational Demonstration within GVMC limits. All activities related to the event have been completed, and we are confident that the program will run smoothly,” Kumar added.
The Operational Demonstration will showcase the Indian Navy’s cutting-edge capabilities through a series of carefully choreographed displays. Highlights will include high-speed manoeuvres by various types of warships, aerial operations by fighter jets, fixed-wing maritime aircraft, and helicopters, as well as demonstrations of amphibious assaults, live slithering operations, and Combat Free Fall by the Marine Commandos (MARCOS).
Additionally, the event will feature a unique Horn Pipe Dance by the Sea Cadets Corps from Visakhapatnam, along with a Beating Retreat Ceremony by the ENC band, rounding out the spectacular display of naval prowess.
