Lok Sabha adjourned till December 9 amid ongoing disruptions

The Lok Sabha has been adjourned until 11:00 am on December 9, as announced by the Speaker on Friday. The decision followed disruptions during the ninth day of the Winter Session of Parliament.

Earlier in the day, proceedings were suspended until 12 pm after opposition members raised slogans and protested over various issues, disrupting the session.

The winter session has seen frequent interruptions, with opposition parties vocally pressing for debates on various pressing issues.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged members to maintain order and ensure the smooth functioning of the House. He requested cooperation during the question hour but adjourned the session when the disruptions continued.

The first session of the winter Parliament commenced on November 25, with both Houses getting adjourned fairly early due to disruptions. The winter session will go on till December 20.
