Youth should lead politics, cannot leave to those who consider politics their family property: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a virtual address at a program organized by Ramakrishna Math in Gujarat on Monday, called for greater youth participation in politics and nation-building. He stressed the importance of preparing the younger generation for leadership roles in every field, including governance.

“We need to prepare youth for leadership in every field of nation-building. Today, just like technology and other fields, our youth should lead the country in politics as well. Now we cannot leave politics to those who consider politics as their family’s property. That’s why we are going to make a new beginning in 2025,” PM Modi said.

He announced that on January 12, 2025, in celebration of Youth Day and the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a Young Leaders Dialogue will be held in Delhi. The event will bring together 2,000 selected youth from across India, with millions more joining virtually. The dialogue will focus on shaping the vision of a developed India through the perspectives and ideas of the nation’s youth.

“Today we have started a new journey of Amritkaal. We have taken a firm resolve of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and must fulfill it within the stipulated time. India’s youth has already demonstrated its ability and potential on the global stage,” he added.
