PM Modi | Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose | Parakram Diwas

PM Modi pays tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Parakram Diwas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, celebrated as Parakram Diwas, with a heartfelt address via video message. Extending greetings to the nation, PM Modi lauded Netaji’s indomitable spirit and dedication to India’s freedom struggle, emphasizing how his ideals continue to inspire generations.

The Prime Minister highlighted that this year’s Parakram Diwas celebrations are being held in Cuttack, Odisha, the birthplace of Netaji. Congratulating the people and the state government, PM Modi noted the grand exhibition depicting the legacy of Netaji’s life, with artists portraying pivotal moments on canvas and a collection of books on Netaji’s life journey. He expressed confidence that these efforts will energize Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat).

Reflecting on Netaji’s life, PM Modi remarked that his unwavering resolve for Azad Hind (Independent India) remains an inspiration. Despite coming from a prosperous family and clearing the Civil Services Examination, Netaji chose a path of sacrifice and struggle for India’s freedom. The Prime Minister urged citizens to draw lessons from Netaji’s life by stepping out of their comfort zones to contribute to the vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat).

PM Modi also praised Netaji’s formation of the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army), a force that united Indians across regions and classes, transcending linguistic and cultural barriers. This unity, he emphasized, is a crucial lesson for achieving India’s development goals.

The Prime Minister noted that Netaji took immense pride in India’s heritage and democratic traditions. He highlighted the government’s efforts to honor Netaji’s contributions, including the establishment of a museum at the Red Fort in 2019, the institution of the Subhas Chandra Bose Disaster Management Awards, and the annual celebration of Parakram Diwas since 2021. He also referenced the installation of Netaji’s statue near India Gate and the renaming of an Andaman island in his honor.

PM Modi recalled the historic moment of hoisting the tricolor at the Red Fort on the 75th anniversary of the Azad Hind Government, describing it as a significant tribute to Netaji’s legacy.

The Prime Minister emphasized India’s rapid development in the last decade, citing the upliftment of 25 crore Indians from poverty, the creation of modern infrastructure, and the strengthening of the Indian military. He expressed confidence in India’s rise as a global economic power, envisioning it as the third-largest economy in the near future.

Urging citizens to work with unity and determination, PM Modi said, “Inspired by Netaji Subhas, we must focus on building a developed and self-reliant India. This will be the truest tribute to Netaji.”
