Commercial LPG cylinder prices slashed by Rs 7 ahead of Union Budget

Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 7, effective immediately.

The price revision comes just hours ahead of the Union Budget presentation scheduled for 11 a.m. in Parliament. Following the reduction, the cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has dropped from Rs 1,809 to Rs 1,797.

In other major cities, the new rates are Rs 1,749 in Mumbai, Rs 1,904 in Kolkata, and Rs 1,959 in Chennai.

However, there has been no revision in the price of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinders.

Commercial LPG cylinders are extensively used in businesses such as hotels and restaurants, making the price cut significant for the hospitality sector. The move is part of broader fuel price adjustments influenced by global market fluctuations.

Global crude oil rates and other economic factors frequently prompt oil companies to revise LPG prices.

Last December, oil companies hiked the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 62, reflecting rising global fuel costs. The most recent price cut before today’s revision occurred on January 1, when rates were reduced by Rs 14.5 following five consecutive hikes.

At that time, the price of a 19 kg cylinder in Delhi stood at Rs 1,804. Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices also saw a 1.5 percent reduction, lowering the cost by Rs 1,401.37 per kilolitre to Rs 90,455.47 per kilolitre in Delhi.
