Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam | Kargil War | Indian Armed Forces | Pakistan Army | Operation Sindoor

From Kargil war heroes to army veterans, India’s firm reply to Pakistan draws widespread praise

As India’s armed forces continue to deliver a strong and coordinated response to Pakistan’s recent escalation, their actions are drawing widespread acclaim from Kargil war heroes and military veterans who hailed the firm retaliation as both necessary and commendable.

On Thursday night, the Pakistan Army launched a barrage of missiles and drones aimed at multiple Indian targets. However, Indian forces successfully intercepted the threats, with no reported damage—an operation that defence veterans are calling a “decisive and much-needed counter.”

Kargil War hero Naik Deepchand praised the Indian military’s restraint and strength, telling IANS, “The Indian Army is among the world’s most powerful. We follow the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family), but when provoked, we respond without hesitation.” He added that India successfully shot down 30 to 50 drones launched in the attack and “not a single drone was allowed to inflict damage.”

Army veteran Brigadier (Retd.) Sudhir Sawant emphasized the strategic implications of Pakistan’s actions, asserting that the true motive behind the recent Pahalgam massacre and cross-border attacks was to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir’s growing economy and provoke communal tensions. “Our forces have given them a strong and appropriate reply,” he said.

Describing the current situation as a “mini war,” Wing Commander (Retd.) Nand Kishor praised India’s superior air defence capabilities under the current leadership. He advocated for an intensified campaign against terror infrastructure across the border. “Eliminating those responsible is not enough. As long as remnants survive, the threat persists. The process must continue until we can be confident that the LoC is secure,” he asserted.

Veterans and analysts alike noted that India’s response has been proportionate, professional, and focused on military targets, reflecting the preparedness and resolve of the Indian armed forces.
