Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu announced on Tuesday the resumption of the morning flight service between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, set to take off from June 1, 2025. The move is aimed at strengthening intra-state connectivity in Andhra Pradesh, linking the political capital with its financial hub.
Operated by IndiGo Airlines, the reinstated service will see flights depart Vijayawada at 7:15 AM, arriving in Visakhapatnam by 8:25 AM. The return leg will leave Visakhapatnam at 8:45 AM and land in Vijayawada at 9:50 AM. The revised schedule is tailored to meet the needs of frequent business and leisure travelers seeking greater convenience.
“Regional connectivity is a cornerstone of our vision for inclusive growth and ease of travel,” said Minister Naidu. “The reinstatement of this crucial flight link will significantly benefit passengers, boost economic engagement between the two cities, and support Andhra Pradesh’s broader development goals.”
The announcement is part of the Centre’s ongoing efforts to improve transportation infrastructure and promote air connectivity in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities under its regional connectivity scheme.
