Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a grand roadshow in Gujarat’s capital, Gandhinagar, on Tuesday, the second day of his visit to the state. A large number of citizens lined the route to welcome the Prime Minister, waving the national flag and raising slogans in support.
Folk artists performed the traditional Gujarati dance garba as part of the cultural welcome. Posters along the roadshow route hailed PM Modi’s leadership and lauded Operation Sindoor.
Following the roadshow, the Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the 20th anniversary celebrations of Gujarat’s Urban Growth Story and lay the foundation stone of several developmental projects aimed at boosting urban infrastructure.
On Monday, PM Modi visited the border district of Kachchh for the first time after the completion of Operation Sindoor. Addressing a large public gathering in Bhuj, he inaugurated 18 development projects worth ₹2,326 crore and laid the foundation for 15 more projects valued at ₹51,088 crore — delivering development works worth over ₹53,400 crore to the state.
Speaking to the people in their native dialect, the Prime Minister said, “Ki Aayo Kutchhi,” and praised Kachchh residents as the brave guardians of the nation’s borders. He paid homage to freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma and expressed gratitude to Maa Ashapura, invoking her blessings for the country’s progress.
The Prime Minister also reflected on his long-standing connection with Kachchh, recalling the transformation in the region brought by the arrival of Narmada waters. He said the once water-scarce land now celebrates a new era of growth, likening the change to the joy of Diwali.
