Operation Sindoor

Rajinikanth, Mammootty, Chiranjeevi, and other film icons hail ‘Operation Sindoor’

Prominent Indian film personalities from across regional industries have come forward to salute the Indian Armed Forces following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a strategic military strike targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Leading the chorus of support, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth took to X to express his solidarity with the armed forces. “The fighter’s fight begins… No stopping until the mission is accomplished! The entire NATION is with you,” he wrote, tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Ministry. He concluded his post with a rousing “JAI HIND 🇮🇳” and the hashtag #OperationSindoor.

He was joined by Mega Star Chiranjeevi, who retweeted the Indian Army’s official Operation Sindoor poster, writing simply, “Jai Hind.” Telugu actor Jr NTR also offered prayers for the safety and success of the military operation, stating, “Praying for the safety & strength of our Indian Army in #OperationSindoor. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳”

From the Malayalam film industry, veteran actor Mammootty paid tribute to the Armed Forces, describing them as the “real heroes.” He wrote, “#OperationSindoor proved again, when the nation calls, the #IndianArmy answers. Thank you for saving lives and restoring hope. You make the nation proud. Jai Hind!”

Several other stars from the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries added their voices to the growing wave of public appreciation. Actress Samyuktha posted, “Together we stand. Wishing the forces success and safety. Bharat Mata Ki Jai 🇮🇳.”

Actor Allu Arjun stated, “May justice be served. Jai Hind 🇮🇳 #OperationSindoor,” while Telugu actor Nandamuri Kalyanram called the operation an appropriate response to the “cowardly Pahalgam terror attacks,” writing, “Respect. Resolve. Remembrance. Jai Hind 🇮🇳.”

Newly expectant mother and actress Lavanya Tripathi, alongside her husband Varun Tej, showed support by sharing the Operation Sindoor poster on her timeline, accompanied by a saluting emoji.

National Award-winning actor and composer G.V. Prakash Kumar kept it succinct with: “Jai Hind #OperationSindoor,” also posting a salute emoji.

Even actor and political commentator Prakash Raj, often vocal about national issues, acknowledged the operation, saying, “Saluting our Indian Armed Forces… India will never tolerate terrorism… #JaiHind.”

Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen were killed in a brutal ambush believed to be orchestrated by Pakistan-backed terrorists.

The Indian Armed Forces struck nine terror camps across the border, including key hubs in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot in Pakistan, as well as multiple sites in PoJK. The Indian Army stated that its response was focused, precise, and non-escalatory, avoiding any Pakistani military infrastructure and demonstrating measured restraint in both target selection and execution.

The strike has been lauded across political, civil, and cultural spheres as a strong message against terrorism and a resolute assertion of India’s defense posture.
