Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday said that red and orange alerts have been issued across the state after several districts were hit by cloudbursts and heavy rainfall. He assured that the government is working round the clock to provide relief to affected people and support ongoing rescue efforts.

Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said, “At this time, red and orange alerts have been issued across the entire state. Every district in Uttarakhand has been affected by the disaster. There is calamity at Dharali, and in Rudraprayag several places have been hit. In Uttarkashi, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar, many areas are waterlogged. A cloudburst has also occurred in Dehri’s Ghansali region.”

CM Dhami said that relief camps are being provided with food, medicines, clothing, and milk for children. He added that the government is closely monitoring the situation and encouraging agencies to work with full preparedness.

Uttarakhand Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said that red and orange alerts have been issued for all districts for the next three days. He added that preparations have been made to tackle waterlogging in the plains.

On Sunday, CM Dhami had cautioned that the next 24 to 48 hours would be crucial, stressing that district administrations, NDRF, SDRF, and all departments remain on high alert. He also said that the Nanak Sagar Dam was being closely monitored, currently flowing five feet below the danger level.

Chairing a meeting with senior officials, the Chief Minister directed district-level officers to remain on round-the-clock alert, ensure citizen safety, maintain vigilance on routes prone to landslides, and take precautionary measures against waterlogging in the plains.
