Riyadh witnessed a vibrant celebration of Hindi Diwas as the Embassy of India hosted a cultural program that brought together Saudi nationals and students of Indian schools. The event featured speeches and songs in Hindi by Saudi participants, alongside captivating performances by students, offering a vivid display of the language’s richness and diversity.

India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, inaugurated the program, underscoring the Government of India’s commitment to the promotion of Hindi. He described the language as a unifying thread for people across India and noted the growing global interest in learning it. He also highlighted how the popularity of Bollywood has deepened appreciation for Hindi among Saudi citizens.

The cultural segment stood out with Saudi nationals delivering speeches and songs in Hindi. Munira Abdullah Alzubair delivered a powerful Hindi speech on India-Saudi relations, Ahmed Sultan Maimani sang a melodious Hindi song, and Abrar Melfi Al-Hulail spoke on the importance of learning the language. Their confident performances not only reflected their fluency but also captivated the audience.

Students of Indian schools and children of the Embassy community added further charm with colorful cultural presentations that drew enthusiastic applause. The program concluded with Ambassador Khan honoring participants and winners of earlier competitions, including essay writing, poetry recitation, and calligraphy.

Through such initiatives, the Indian Embassy continues to strengthen Hindi’s presence in Saudi Arabia, positioning it not only as a language of communication but also as a cultural bridge connecting communities.
