PM Modi to inaugurate India Mobile Congress 2025, Asia’s largest tech and telecom event, on October 8

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the ninth edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) on October 8 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, marking the start of Asia’s largest technology and telecom event.

The four-day event, organised jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), will run from October 8 to 11 under the theme “Innovate to Transform”. It aims to highlight India’s growing leadership in digital transformation and next-generation connectivity.

This year’s IMC is expected to draw more than 1.5 lakh visitors from over 150 countries, alongside over 7,000 global delegates and participation from more than 400 companies. The event will feature over 800 speakers and more than 100 technical and industry sessions.

Key focus areas at IMC 2025 include emerging technologies such as 6G, quantum communications, semiconductors in telecom, optical networks, and cyber fraud prevention. Organisers said the event will spotlight India’s commitment to innovation-driven growth, digital sovereignty, and technology-led development.

More than 1,600 new use-cases across sectors like 5G/6G, artificial intelligence, smart mobility, green technology, and cybersecurity will be showcased during the event.

The international scope of the Congress has expanded this year, with official delegations expected from countries including Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ireland, and Austria, underlining India’s growing influence in global digital ecosystems.

IMC has become a premier platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and technology innovators to engage, collaborate, and exchange ideas shaping the future of digital connectivity.
