Gujarat’s tourism sector is raising international standards with the development of Shivrajpur Beach, the state’s first Global Blue Flag Beach.
The project, backed by a massive Rs 130 crore investment from the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL), showcases world-class sustainable infrastructure. Its success is set to be a highlight at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot.
Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiative, the transformation of Shivrajpur Beach into a Global Blue Flag destination reflects Gujarat’s commitment to providing international-standard tourism experiences domestically. Visitors can now enjoy a safe, clean, and world-class coastal environment without leaving the country.
Shivrajpur Beach, located in Devbhumi Dwarka district along Gujarat’s 2,340 km coastline, is recognised for its beauty, cleanliness, safety, and tranquility. The prestigious Global Blue Flag certification recognises the beach’s adherence to the highest international standards for environment, safety, and amenities.
The comprehensive development plan includes an Arrival Plaza, Snorkelling Plaza, Cycle Track, Promenade, housing facilities, a Sludge Treatment Plant, and over 11 km of new roads constructed by the Gujarat State Roads and Buildings Department at a cost of Rs 3.93 crore.
The Dwarka-Okha Urban Development Authority will oversee the systematic planning of the wider tourism area, covering Dwarka, Bet Dwarka, and Shivrajpur. The beach will also host festivals and cultural events to enhance tourist engagement.
The Kutch-Saurashtra tourism circuit will be a key focus at VGRC in Rajkot from January 10–12, 2026. The development of Shivrajpur Beach, with its premium hospitality infrastructure, serves as a model for sustainable growth and offers attractive investment opportunities. Investors are encouraged to explore projects ranging from luxury coastal resorts and water sports in Dwarka to eco-tourism and heritage hospitality across Kutch and Saurashtra.
The conference aims to connect investors with opportunities in hotels, resorts, adventure tourism, spiritual circuits, eco-tourism at Gir, and cultural experiential travel in the Rann region.
