Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi met Major General Staff Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, commander of the UAE land forces, as part of his ongoing visit to the UAE, with discussions focused on strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries. Officials said the talks covered measures to enhance military engagement, improve convergence in training and expand bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the visit, General Dwivedi also toured the UAE land forces museum, where he was briefed on the history, traditions and military heritage of the Emirati armed forces. The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by India and the UAE to deepen strategic and defence ties.
The engagement follows the recently concluded Desert Cyclone military exercise, a bilateral drill aimed at enhancing interoperability between the Indian Army and the UAE land forces in desert warfare and counter-terror operations. Military officials said the exercise helped improve coordination, tactical understanding and joint operational planning between the two sides, reflecting growing strategic trust.
