IBPC Dubai, India Club come together to mark India’s 77th Republic Day

Indian Business & Professional Council Dubai, in association with the India Club, marked India’s 77th Republic Day with an open-air celebration in Dubai, highlighting the growing convergence of community, culture and commerce between India and the UAE.

Held at the India Club, the event brought together members, families and community leaders for an evening that blended patriotism with the performing arts. The programme featured India in Her Voice, a soulful baithak by Malhaar, paying tribute to the legacy of Lata Mangeshkar through renditions of classics including “Lag Ja Gale”, “Ajeeb Dastan” and “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”. This was complemented by dance performances choreographed to patriotic anthems such as “Vande Mataram” and “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo”.

Consul General of India in Dubai Satish Sivan welcomed the coming together of “two iconic institutions” and praised the breaking of silos between business and the wider community. Referring to recent high-level engagements, including the recent UAE Presidential visit to India, he said India-UAE trade is expected to cross USD 110 billion by March 2026.

Addressing the gathering, IBPC Dubai chairman Siddharth Balachandran reflected on India’s national transformation, saying, “Know thyself is at the root of every transformative process, be it for an individual, an organisation or a nation.” He added that many Indians are experiencing a collective awakening that generates positive energy, describing Viksit Bharat as an inner and shared renewal, and noted that as India’s partnership with the UAE deepens, “the relationship will only grow stronger”.

India Club honorary chairman Mohan Valrani highlighted the collaboration between IBPC Dubai and the India Club as a practical example of institutional cooperation strengthening community bonds and shared purpose.The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by IBPC Dubai secretary general Sahitya Chaturvedi, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to fostering dialogue that goes beyond business by bringing families, culture and institutions together in a shared spirit of partnership and national pride.
