Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Member of Parliament and Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha.
In a message of condolence, the Prime Minister said he was pained by the loss of Purkayastha, recalling his unwavering commitment to public service and his contributions to the development of Assam.
PM Modi noted that the late leader played a vital role in strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party across the state and was widely respected for his dedication to society.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Pained by the passing of former MP and Union Minister Shri Kabindra Purkayastha Ji. His commitment to serving society and contribution towards Assam’s progress will always be remembered. He played a vital role in strengthening the BJP across the state.
