Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held talks with Denmark’s Acting Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on the sidelines of the India-Nordic Summit, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the discussions focused on expanding cooperation in renewable energy, climate action, water management, green shipping, digitalisation and food processing.
Both sides also underlined their strong support for strengthening bilateral ties under the Green Strategic Partnership framework and noted that Danish investments and technologies could be further scaled up in India for the mutual benefit of both countries.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Had a fruitful meeting with Mette Frederiksen in Oslo. The India-Denmark friendship has been making remarkable progress over the recent years. Cooperation has expanded in sectors like water resources, clean energy, shipping and food processing.”
“The coming years can see similar synergy in FinTech, industries, defence, innovation and more. Invited Danish pension funds to expand their investments in India. We are very confident that the India-EU Free Trade Agreement will have a major impact on both our economies,” he added.
The two leaders also exchanged views on key regional and global issues of mutual concern during the meeting held alongside the India-Nordic Summit in Norway.
