Pm family care tracker Pilot Project

Amit Shah inaugurates PM Family Care Tracker pilot project in Gujarat

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated the pilot project of the PM Family Care Tracker in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, saying the initiative would help ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive government welfare benefits in a timely and targeted manner. He also administered polio drops to children and distributed nutrition kits during the event.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said the PM Family Care Tracker would integrate birth and death registration data to provide every child with a unique identification number, enabling the automatic delivery of benefits under various government schemes. He said the platform would address key challenges related to beneficiary identification, government outreach and welfare delivery through an integrated monitoring system focused on identifying and supporting those most in need.

The Home Minister said the tracker is part of the Centre’s broader push to strengthen governance and improve the implementation of welfare programmes. He highlighted the role of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), saying it has ensured transparent and efficient delivery of financial assistance to beneficiaries.

Praising the Narendra Modi government’s welfare initiatives, Shah said the government had, over the past 12 years, expanded access to housing, electricity, tap water, toilets, LPG connections, free foodgrains, healthcare coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh under government schemes and affordable medicines for crores of poor families. He said these initiatives had helped address several long-pending issues affecting economically weaker sections.

Shah also underlined the government’s efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector, citing the expansion of medical education, improved health infrastructure, wider access to affordable medicines and the promotion of AYUSH. He said the PM Family Care Tracker would help monitor these initiatives and ensure that welfare benefits reach intended beneficiaries more effectively.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and other senior officials were present at the launch event.
