Dubai Road Accident: Three Each from UP and Telangana Among Six Indian Fatalities

Three Indian workers from Uttar Pradesh and three from Telangana were among seven people killed in a road accident on Emirates Road in Dubai on Monday. The seventh victim was a Sri Lankan national. Of the eight injured Indians, five have been discharged after receiving treatment, while three remain hospitalised, with two undergoing treatment at Rashid Hospital and one at Al Fakheer Hospital.

The accident occurred when a minibus carrying workers collided with a truck that had reportedly stopped in the middle of the road due to a technical malfunction. According to Dubai Police, preliminary investigations indicate that the truck came to a sudden halt following a mechanical failure. The minibus then rammed into the vehicle from behind. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said the crash left seven people dead and nine injured. Five of the injured sustained serious injuries, while four suffered moderate injuries. All were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

In a statement, the Indian Consulate in Dubai said, “Deeply saddened by the tragic road accident in Dubai that claimed the lives of several Indian workers. Our officials visited the hospital, met the injured Indians, and are working closely with local authorities to provide all possible assistance.” Consulate General of India in Dubai is coordinating closely with local authorities to assist the injured, facilitate the repatriation of mortal remains to India, and is in touch with the families of those who lost their lives. Investigations into the accident are continuing.
