India on Monday strongly condemned Pakistan’s air strikes on Afghan territory, describing them as a blatant act of aggression that has resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the attacks constitute an assault on Afghanistan’s sovereignty and pose a direct threat to regional peace and stability.
The MEA said the incident reflects what it described as Pakistan’s persistent pattern of reckless behaviour and an attempt to externalise its internal failures through acts of violence beyond its borders.
Expressing solidarity with the Afghan people, India conveyed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the strikes and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
Reiterating its long-standing position, India affirmed its unwavering support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region following the reported air strikes, with India calling attention to the humanitarian impact of the attacks and their implications for regional security.
