PM Modi arrives in Paris for final leg of France visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Wednesday (local time) for the final leg of his visit to France, following his participation in the G7 Summit in Evian.

Upon his arrival in the French capital, the Prime Minister received a warm welcome from members of the Indian diaspora.

“Reached Paris a short while ago to a warm welcome by the Indian diaspora. I am proud of their efforts in bringing India and France closer. The India-France partnership is vital for the progress of our planet,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

During his stay in Paris, PM Modi is scheduled to address the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s largest technology and startup event, and interact with members of the Indian community at a special diaspora gathering.

The Paris leg of the visit follows the Prime Minister’s participation in the G7 Summit in Evian, where he engaged with world leaders on a range of global issues, including governance, artificial intelligence (AI), and cooperation with the Global South.

Describing his engagements at the summit as “productive”, PM Modi said he had presented India’s perspectives on governance and policymaking while emphasising the need for deeper collaboration with developing nations.

“Had a productive round of meetings and interactions at the G7 Summit in Evian. I had the opportunity to put forward India’s views and efforts on key areas of governance and policy-making. Also had the opportunity to put forward the need to work closely with the Global South as far as global prosperity is concerned,” he said in a post on X.

At the summit, PM Modi participated in a session on artificial intelligence, highlighting India’s commitment to ethical, responsible and human-centric AI development. He also called for an inclusive approach to ensure that the benefits of emerging technologies reach developing countries.

The Prime Minister also addressed the Outreach Session on “Reviving a Balanced, Shared and Sustainable Economic Growth for All”, where he highlighted India’s development philosophy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”, underscoring that the country’s growth story is driven by inclusion, scale and democratic empowerment.
