PM Modi extends birthday greetings to Tamil Nadu CM Vijay, prays for his long and healthy life

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended birthday greetings to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder C. Joseph Vijay.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Birthday greetings to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay Ji. I pray for his long and healthy life.”

Vijay, who is celebrating his first birthday as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, received wishes from political leaders, party colleagues and supporters across the state.

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president M.K. Stalin also extended his greetings, wishing Vijay good health and continued dedication to public service.

“Heartfelt birthday wishes to the honourable @CMOTamilNadu, Thiru. S. Joseph Vijay! I wish you the strength to continue serving the public with joy and physical-mental well-being,” Stalin said in a post on X.

Tamil Nadu Minister and senior TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna also congratulated Vijay, praising his journey from a celebrated film star to a public servant. Arjuna highlighted Vijay’s commitment to democratic values and public welfare, describing him as a leader who chose service over personal success and has been working tirelessly for the people since assuming office.

Born on June 22, 1974, in Chennai, Vijay is one of the most prominent actor-turned-politicians in India. Popularly known as “Thalapathy” among his fans, he began his acting career as a child artist in Vetri (1984), directed by his father, filmmaker S.A. Chandrasekhar.

Over the years, Vijay emerged as one of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars, delivering several blockbuster films.

In 2024, Vijay launched the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), marking his official entry into politics. The party made a remarkable debut in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, emerging as the single-largest party by winning 108 of the state’s 234 assembly seats.
