PM Modi reviews ₹30,000-crore infra projects in 52nd PRAGATI meeting, pushes AI-driven TB elimination and stronger cyber fraud response

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired the 52nd meeting of PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation), the ICT-enabled platform that integrates efforts of the Centre and States to ensure effective governance and timely execution of key projects and programmes.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed four major infrastructure projects worth around ₹30,000 crore across the Road, Power, Industrial Corridor and Metro Rail sectors, spanning four states. Stressing the importance of timely completion, PM Modi said delays in infrastructure projects lead not only to cost escalation but also deprive citizens and industries of the intended benefits. He directed concerned ministries and state governments to resolve pending issues in mission mode and closely monitor project implementation.

The Prime Minister also emphasised the effective use of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for better planning and execution of infrastructure projects. He underlined the need for regular updates of project details, utility data, infrastructure layers, clearances and other field-level information on the portal to ensure decisions are based on accurate, real-time data and to help identify bottlenecks at an early stage.

Reviewing the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the PM called for greater use of emerging digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, to accelerate India’s fight against tuberculosis. He also suggested involving NCC cadets and MY Bharat volunteers in awareness campaigns, patient follow-up and community mobilisation efforts.

The Prime Minister further reviewed grievances related to cybercrime and digital arrest scams, expressing concern over the growing misuse of digital platforms to defraud citizens. He stressed the need for coordinated, sensitive and time-bound action by all stakeholders and said citizens should not be forced to approach multiple agencies for redressal.

Highlighting the importance of swift intervention in cyber fraud cases, PM Modi called for stronger coordination among law enforcement agencies, banks and digital platforms. He also emphasised the need for robust public awareness campaigns and directed states to work towards implementing e-Zero FIR mechanisms for faster registration and response in cybercrime cases.
