World Blood Donor Day: Delhi telecom department, AIIMS collaborate to promote voluntary blood donation

The Office of the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts (Pr. CCA), Delhi, under the Department of Telecommunications, organised a blood donation camp on World Blood Donor Day in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and strengthen hospital blood reserves.

The camp was inaugurated by Principal Controller of Communication Accounts, Delhi, Asha Rungta, who encouraged officials and staff members to participate in the noble cause. Held at Sanchar Lekha Bhawan in Delhi, the drive witnessed enthusiastic participation under the theme, “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives.”

The AIIMS Blood Bank team oversaw blood collection, donor counselling and health screening while ensuring adherence to all clinical and biosafety protocols. Donors were provided refreshments after donation and monitored in a dedicated recovery area.

The event concluded with the AIIMS Blood Bank unit presenting a certificate of successful completion to the Office of the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts, Delhi, in recognition of its contribution to promoting voluntary blood donation and supporting healthcare services.
