With less than 24 hours to go for the International Day of Yoga 2026, anticipation is building across the UAE as diplomatic missions and community groups host a series of pre-event sessions in key locations. In Al Ain, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, an early morning yoga session was held atop Jebel Hafeet, led by Ambassador of India to the UAE Dr. Deepak Mittal and organised by the Indian Social Centre Al Ain. Participants practiced yoga and meditation against the mountain backdrop, highlighting themes of harmony, health, and holistic well-being.
In Dubai, attention turned to women’s health and empowerment, with the Consulate General of India in Dubai partnering with community leader Mrs. Bubbles Kandhari for a dedicated session at the Emirates Golf Club. Led by Ms. Ankita Wakekar, Consul at CGI Dubai, the event brought together women and girls of all ages, reflecting the 2026 theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” and underlining yoga’s role in supporting strength, mental balance, and lifelong wellness.Together, these events reflect the UAE’s growing yoga culture and strong community participation, with thousands expected to take part in tomorrow’s main International Day of Yoga celebrations across the country.
On International Day of Yoga, the Consulate General of India, Dubai, in partnership with the Dubai Police Positive Spirit Council, will host a large-scale public yoga session at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club from 5:30 am to 6:30 am, bringing together diplomats, residents, and students.In Abu Dhabi, the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi is inviting participants to a guided morning yoga session from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at the iconic dome of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
