CM Yogi to inaugurate Prerna Park, unveil statues of Mookerjee, Vajpayee and Singhal in Prayagraj

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate Prerna Park on the banks of the Yamuna in Prayagraj on Monday and unveil bronze statues of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Vishwa Hindu Parishad International President Ashok Singhal.

During his visit, the Chief Minister will also flag off the Ekta Boat Race on the Yamuna and address a public gathering at the park.

According to the official programme, more than two dozen boats will participate in the Ekta Boat Race, which is being organised in memory of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee.

Later, Adityanath will visit the Prayagraj Mela Authority auditorium at Parade Ground to review 1,553 development works being undertaken by the Public Works Department and other departments in the Prayagraj Zone. The projects under review are collectively valued at over Rs 2,500 crore.

Prerna Park has been developed by the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation near Kali Ghat on the banks of the Yamuna at a cost of Rs 1 crore.

Prayagraj Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani said the park has been created to showcase the life, values and ideals of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Ashok Singhal, with the objective of inspiring future generations through their contributions to national service, cultural nationalism, social harmony and public welfare.

The park features landscaped gardens, lighting, pathways, seating arrangements, beautification works and sanitation facilities surrounding the statues.

The Chief Minister’s visit also comes as the Uttar Pradesh government continues redevelopment and beautification works along the Ganga and Yamuna ghats in Prayagraj.

Besides inaugurating the park and unveiling the statues, Adityanath’s itinerary includes flagging off the Ekta Boat Race, addressing the public meeting and reviewing key development projects in the Prayagraj Zone.
