The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare successfully concluded a three-day Ayushman Arogya Shivir across Kartavya Bhawan-I, II and III in New Delhi, providing preventive health screening and medical consultation to more than 1,700 government officials and staff from over 16 ministries.
Organised from July 22 to 24, the health camp was conducted by the Central TB Division (CTD) in collaboration with the Delhi State TB Cell, the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) and the Swasth Nagrik Abhiyaan (SNA) Division. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare, encourage early diagnosis and raise awareness about healthy lifestyles among Central Secretariat employees.
The programme commenced at Kartavya Bhawan-I on July 22 and was inaugurated by Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Aradhana Patnaik, who highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare and regular health check-ups.
The second phase of the camp was held at Kartavya Bhawan-II on July 23, where Deputy Director General, Central TB Division, Dr. Shobini Rajan, emphasised the role of early detection and timely diagnosis in achieving the goal of a TB Mukt Bharat. The final leg of the health camp was organised at Kartavya Bhawan-III on July 24.
Participants underwent comprehensive health assessments, including blood pressure measurement, blood sugar testing, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment, haemoglobin estimation, chest X-ray screening and medical consultations, with referrals provided wherever necessary. The camp witnessed participation from officers, security personnel, housekeeping staff, sanitation workers and other employees.
A key feature of the initiative was the deployment of two Ni-kshay Vahans equipped with digital chest X-ray, CBNAAT and TrueNat diagnostic facilities. These mobile diagnostic units enabled on-site tuberculosis screening, molecular testing and prompt referral of suspected cases, strengthening efforts under the National TB Elimination Programme.
The Ministry said the health camp was supported by nearly 60 healthcare professionals, including doctors, specialists, laboratory technicians, radiographers, nursing staff, programme officials, TB Vijetas and My Bharat volunteers, ensuring the smooth delivery of healthcare services and awareness activities.
The Ministry noted that workplace-based health initiatives such as the Ayushman Arogya Shivir contribute to the government’s vision of Viksit Bharat, Healthy India and TB Mukt Bharat by promoting preventive healthcare, encouraging regular health screenings and facilitating the early detection and treatment of diseases.
