Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will lead a high-level Indian business delegation on a five-day visit to Spain, Belgium and Finland from July 13 to 17 to strengthen economic partnerships with Europe across trade, investment, technology, innovation and sustainability.
The delegation includes leading Indian companies from sectors such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy, digital technologies, gems and jewellery, food processing, healthcare and design. The visit is aimed at expanding business collaborations and showcasing India’s capabilities in manufacturing, innovation and emerging technologies.
The visit will begin in Spain on July 13, where Goyal will participate in a business roundtable organised jointly by the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, CEOE and ICEX Spain Trade & Investment. The meeting will bring together Indian and Spanish industry leaders to explore opportunities in sectors including automotive, renewable energy, railways, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, food processing and tourism.
The visit also coincides with the Spain-India Dual Year 2026, marking 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. It is expected to provide fresh momentum to business-to-business partnerships. Several Spanish companies, including Iberdrola, Acciona, CAF, Talgo, Gestamp and Indra, already have a significant presence in India, while Indian firms such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Larsen & Toubro are expanding their operations in Spain to support digitalisation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
In Belgium, where the delegation will be on July 14 and 15, the Commerce Minister will visit the Port of Antwerp and the Antwerp World Diamond Centre. The port visit will focus on best practices in multimodal connectivity, green logistics and resilient supply chains, while discussions at the Antwerp World Diamond Centre will centre on the global diamond value chain, responsible sourcing, certification and opportunities for India’s gems and jewellery industry.
During the Belgium visit, Goyal will also hold CEO-level meetings with senior executives of Thales Group and Silox Group. Discussions are expected to cover aerospace, defence, cybersecurity, digital identity, specialty chemicals, battery recycling and sustainable manufacturing. The India-EU Business Roundtable and the Trade and Technology Council (TTC) Plenary will further focus on foreign direct investment, trade facilitation, sustainable technologies and strengthening resilient supply chains.
The final leg of the visit will take the delegation to Finland on July 16 and 17. Goyal will participate in the India-Finland Business Roundtable with leading Finnish companies operating in digitalisation, clean energy, advanced manufacturing and the circular economy.
During the visit, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Business Finland will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen institutional cooperation between businesses in the two countries.
The Minister will also visit Nokia Corporation to discuss telecom infrastructure and 6G research, Kone Corporation for smart mobility and advanced manufacturing, Kemppi Group for industrial machinery and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and the VTT Technical Research Centre to explore collaboration in frontier technologies and applied research.
The Indian delegation includes companies such as Borosil Renewables, Motherson Group, Trivitron Healthcare, Hari Krishna Exports and Nekkanti Seafoods, representing sectors ranging from clean technology and healthcare to food processing and gems and jewellery.
According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Europe visit will focus on advancing cooperation in advanced manufacturing, clean energy, digital and frontier technologies, gems and jewellery, and food and consumer industries. The government expects the engagements with industry leaders, business chambers and technology institutions to create new opportunities for trade, investment and technology collaboration while reinforcing India’s position as a trusted global partner in manufacturing, innovation and sustainable growth.
