Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects being implemented by the National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) and called for the expeditious completion of key multimodal connectivity initiatives across the country.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the review meeting assessed the project-level progress of Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), ropeways, intermodal stations and wayside amenities under development at various locations.
During the meeting, the Minister underscored the strategic importance of these projects in creating a future-ready and integrated transport ecosystem. He said the initiatives would strengthen multimodal connectivity, improve logistics efficiency, generate new economic opportunities, promote balanced regional development and enhance India’s overall logistics competitiveness.
Gadkari also reviewed the key challenges affecting project implementation and directed all concerned stakeholders to resolve bottlenecks on priority to ensure faster execution.
According to the ministry, the Minister said timely completion of the projects would help reduce transportation costs, improve freight movement and provide world-class infrastructure and amenities for commuters.
He added that the initiatives would contribute to the government’s vision of Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat by strengthening the country’s transport and logistics infrastructure.
